Nevada, Vegas gas prices up
Wednesday, March 14, 2001 | 11:43 a.m.
Gasoline prices in Nevada have increased 9 cents this month to $1.72 a gallon from February, but prices are down 12 cents from September's record high, said an industry report.
The average price per gallon in Las Vegas is $1.68, up seven cents from last month, according to AAA's monthly gas survey.
"We expect gas prices to remain at or near this level at least through the end of April," said Lisa Foster, AAA Nevada's spokeswoman. "There may be some short-term price fluctuations which ... are caused mostly by the switch from winter grade to summer grade fuels. In addition, refineries are cutting back production ... for maintenance."
