Boulder City is run well

Regarding the Boulder City Council:
It seems that you would have enough to report on with your own city council without having to come and disparage ours in your newspaper. But I do believe there are a few facts you missed.
Councilman Bill Smith was part of the discussion on the pay raises. Why didn't he propose a city charter change then, or ballot question? He voted no, then went on a tangent when the rest of the council voted yes. He did not even mention a change in charter until I mentioned it in a letter to the editor in the Boulder City weekly paper. It was after that that he came up with this idea.
Our city council works hard for our city and exceeds all other city councils in accomplishments, if you ask me. Our city council is one of the most effective councils for a small town that I have ever seen. And I have lived in two other towns with comparative populations. Big-city government would like to be able to run its cities as effectively as ours runs.
Yes, our charter needs to be updated to reflect this change. But that update should have been proposed before the raises went to a vote.
