Laretta 'Jerry' Birmingham

Laretta "Jerry" Birmingham, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1910, in Pittsburgh. A resident for four years, she was a retired retail chain auditor.

No local services are scheduled. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled arrangements.

Tonna Brooks

Tonna Brooks, 15, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 25, 1985, in Las Vegas. She was a student.

She is survived by her parents Alasandro V. Brooks and Deola Walker-Brooks, four brothers, Cyrus Walker, Tyler Whitchurch, Armando Brooks and Allen D. Brooks, four sisters, Lola Walker, Ahreiale V. Brooks, Ahreial T. Brooks and Jade Kendra Primaky, and her grandparents, Edward and Louise Shelby, all of North Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Norman A. Christopher

Norman A. Christopher, 96, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Feb. 18, 1905, in New York. A resident for 25 years, he was a purchasing agent for 30 years at Hughes Aircraft and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by one daughter, Carol Jones of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

No public services are scheduled. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Fedila Clophus

Fedila Clophus, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Basile, La. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired bakery production worker.

She is survived by two daughters, Fodila Ann Cloyd of Los Angeles and RockAnn Thompson of Las Vegas; six sisters, Wanda Malbry of Jenning, La., Alma Malbry of Nashville, Tenn., Martha Malbry of Los Angeles and Gloria Bowie, Julia McGriff and Mary Gibson, all of Las Vegas; six brothers, Paul Clophus of Beaumont, Texas, Ernest Clophus of Port Arthur, Texas and Charles Malbry, John Malbry, Luke Malbry and Harry Dean Malbry, all of Los Angeles; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Celestine Coleman

Celestine Coleman, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Louisiana. A resident for 21 years, she was a housekeeper.

She is survived by two sons; Jerry Wroten and Otis Coleman Jr.; two daughters, Bonnie Alice Kirk and Diana Daniels; eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m.-noon Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Ralph Ekbery

Ralph Ekbery, 72, of Henderson, died Wednesday, in Henderson. He was born March 27, 1928, in Queens, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was a retired airline pilot, a Marine Corps veteran, a Mason, past president of the Florida Air Pilot Association, and was a member of the Quiet Birdmen.

He is survived by his wife, Joo Ok; one daughter, Stephanie Silver of Atlanta, Ga.; one son, Steve Lezinski of Henderson; one brother, John Ekberg of Coral Gables, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until noon services Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Carol Ann Elliott

Carol Ann Elliott, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born May 4, 1933, in Niagara, N.Y. A resident for 29 years, she was a retired waitress and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by one daughter, Deanna Taylor, and one son, Steve Elliott, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Olive Finelli of Lancaster; two sisters, Marie Lamb of Lancaster, Calif., and Theresa Shuart of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Charles Finelli and Tyrone Finelli, both of Lexington, Ky., Peter Finelli of San Diego; and one grandchild.

Services were scheduled at 4 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Bettye A. England

Bettye A. England, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born May 15, 1917, in Abilene, Texas. A resident for 59 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Jimmie England of Tropic, Utah; one sister, Priscilla Reasor of San Antonio; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. cryptside services Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

John Frankiewicz

John Frankiewicz, 74, of Las Vegas died Feb. 13 in Las Vegas. He was born July 21, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for 18 years, he was a construction worker for the Milwaukee County gvernment and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by two sisters, Helen Nieratka of Rosendale, Wis., and Irene Branch of Chicago.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Stella K. Gardner

Stella K. Gardner, 98, of Searchlight died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 18, 1902, of Hatton, N.D. A resident for seven years, she was a retired professional pianist.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra J. Walters of Searchlight; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Searchlight Community Church. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Diosdada Hamilton

Diosdada Hamilton, 61, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 10, 1939, in the Philippines. A resident for 23 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by one daughter, Diana Toricho of the Philippines; two sisters, Patricia Hamilton and Rosita Jones, both of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Monday in Palm Mortuary, Downtown. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Maurine C. Harvey

Maurine C. Harvey, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 27, 1935, in California. A resident for 17 years, she was a mail service worker.

She is survived by her husband, Garry; two sons, Garry Harvey Jr. and James Harvey; two daughters, Katherine Mary Alina Long and Linda Swanson; two brothers, Ervin Jackson and Earle Jackson; one sister, Harriet Marvin; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Harrison Hurdle

Robert Harrison Hurdle, 56, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 21, 1944, in Waterbury, Conn. A resident for 18 years, he was an employee at Delta Airlines for 25 years and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Randy Christian of Las Vegas; and one brother, James Hurdle of Waterbury.

Services will be Saturday in Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St.Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road No. 16, Henderson., is handling arrangements.

James W. Ingraham

James W. Ingraham, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired prop designer in the entertainment industry and a member of the Carpenters Union with the motion picture industry IATSE, Local 44 and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, James G. Ingraham and Randy Ingraham, both of California; two daughters, Ronnie Fody of Georgia and Tina Norris of Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the LDS West Lone Mountain Ward, 5601 W. Lone Mountain Road. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Max Key

Max Key, 89, of Las Vegas, died Sunday, in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 20, 1912, in Fresno, Calif. A resident for 25 years, he was a real estate investor.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Conroe, Texas.

Cynthia Lohmann, 48, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. She was born Feb. 24, 1953, in Texas. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two sisters, Lynn Jacoby and Lisa Haferkamp, both of Cuero, Texas.

Robert C. Lunnis, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born June 9, 1917, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 46 years, he was a retired electrical personnel chief and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by his companion, Catherine Bawdon; two daughters, Roberta C. Lunnis and Linda S. Berry, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Glenn P. Lunnis of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Gary A. Nelson, 45, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 15, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 10 years, he was a casino floorman.

He is survived by his companion, Jun Mendoza, of Las Vegas; one daughter, Stacie Nelson of Ohio; his father, Richard Nelson of Topock, Ariz.; one brother, Craig Nelson, and one sister, Deborah Nelson, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Billie Lee Oliver

Billie Lee Oliver, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 13, 1923, in Shattuck, Okla. A resident for 61 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one sister, Opal Bradley of Whittier, Calif., and her caregivers, Mr. and Mrs. Tomas Cantu of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Bunkers Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Janet Marie Prebul

Janet Marie Prebul, 28, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 2, 1972, in Cleveland. A resident for five years, she was a student and a member of the NAVDI Las Vegas Chapter.

She was preceded in death by one son, Alan Michael Prebul.

She is survived by her parents, Wayne and Linda Prebul, both of Las Vegas; her grandparents, Lucille Prebul of Las Vegas and Myron and Audrey Wheller of Strongsville, Ohio.

Ronald Leo Prochazka, 44, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 5, 1956, in Baytown, Texas. A resident for six years, he was a business owner.

He is survived by his father, Leo Prochazka; two brothers, Larry Prochazka of Channelview, Texas, and Joe Prochazka of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; and one sister, Diane Bommarito of Deer Park, Texas.

A memorial service is scheduled 1 p.m. March 17 in Texas.

Frank L. Partridge

Frank L. Partridge, 87, of Carnegie, Okla., died Wednesday in Carnegie. He was born March 4, 1914, in Fowlerton, Ind. A former resident of Las Vegas and Reno, he owned and operated the Pear Tree Donut Shop in Carnegie from 1971 imto; 1983 and was a member of the Masons and Shriners.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Agnes Garvey and one brother, Myron Partridge.

He is survived by two sons, Lee Partridge of Carnegie and Dale Partridge of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. and Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home in Carnegie, handled arrangements.

Cristina Sanabria

Cristina Sanabria, 91, of Las Vegas, died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 18, 1910, in Cuba. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Miguel Sanabria of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Amalia Markus of Las Vegas and Clara Rey of Los Angeles, Calif.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled at noon Saturday at Paradise Memorial Gardens.

L. Maxie Sanders

L. Maxie Sanders, 74, of North Las Vegas, died Sunday, in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 8, 1927, in Nachogdoches, Texas. He was a retired auto maintenance technician.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy; six daughters, Gracie Gibbs, Sandra Thrower, Denise Brechler, Joanette King, Sherry Connors and Ruth Sanders, and two sons, Ted and Dennis Sanders, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Gracie Simon of Las Vegas; two brothers, Kline Sanders of North Las Vegas and Edmond Sanders Jr. of Tyler, Texas; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is private. A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday and a graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, both at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Nick T. Silvestri

Nick T. Silvestri, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday, in Las Vegas. he was born May 28, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired city park district foreman, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Grandsons of Italy, and VFW Belmonte Post.

He is survived by his wife, Annette; two daughters Maureen Hart of Las Vegas and Kathy Hill of Chicago; one son, Joseph Tobin of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Lucy Caifia of Chicago; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. services Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.

Scott Alan Slovak, 21, of North Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 7, 1980, in West Covina, Calif. A resident for eight years, he was an apprentice painter for a construction company and a member of Painters Local 159.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Nancie K. and Vincent M. Pinto of North Las Vegas; his father, Jerry A. Slovak Jr. of Baldwin Park, Calif.; two brothers, Jerry A. Slovak III of San Diego and Danny L. Slovak of North Las Vegas; his grandparents, Barbara and Jerry Slovak Sr. of Yucca Valley, Calif., and Phyllis Brooks of Monrovia, Calif.

Barbara Spidle

Barbara Spidle, 67, of Panaca, died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 11, 1934, in Worchester, Mass. A longtime resident, she was a nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas; one son, Michael Bivins of Panaca; one daughter, Loretta Patton of Arizona; and one sister, Gina Steele of Caliente.

No local services will be held.

Tom Stoyanoff

Tom Stoyanoff, 74, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Macedonia. A resident for six months, he owned a grocery store.

He is survived by his wife, Zorka; and one son, Rick Stoyanoff of Lorrain, Ohio.

Ervin F. Struckman

Ervin F. Struckman, 70, of Las Vegas, died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Hooper, Neb. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired owner of an auto body repair business and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Elsie Thompson of Denver and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services.

Idella Vinson, 52, of North Las Vegas, died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 15, 1948, in Memphis, Tenn. A resident for six years, she was a supervisor.

She is survived by her companion, Frank Buchanan of North Las Vegas; two daughters, Tina Vinson of Michigan and Antoinette Vinson of Las Vegas; four brothers, Penn Vinson, James Edward Vinson, Dan Fraizer and Donald Robinson, all of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three sisters, Gloria Jean Allison of Detroit, Mich., Yvonne Vinson and Tence Hill Graves, both of Grand Rapids; and five grandchildren.

Esther Warshaw, 54, of Las Vegas, died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 4, 1946, in Utah. A resident for 14 years, she was a retail sales associate.

She is survived by one daughter, Carrie Herb of Las Vegas; her mother, Louise O'Hearon of Topeka, Kans.; two sisters, Tanya Skinner and Sandra Dvorak, and three brothers, Rick O'Hearon, Ted O'Hearon and Butch O'Hearon, all of Price, Utah; and one grandchild.

A graveside service was scheduled at 1 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jo Ann Willey

Jo Ann Willey, 63, formerly of Las Vegas, died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 1, 1937, in Mason City, Iowa. Before moving to Dolan Springs, Ariz., three years ago, she was a resident for 25 years, and was a retired medical laboratory technician.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Teri Willey; two sons, Rick Willey of Seattle and Robert Willey of Key West, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren.
