Letter: Vegas probably a turnoff to Pitino

Surprise, surprise, Rick Pitino will not be coming to Las Vegas to coach basketball for UNLV. I could have told you that a week ago. His wife was here several days before to check out the city. That was the week the local newspapers were full of stories about some of our local politicians who were either before an ethics committee or being investigated by one agency or another.

Perhaps Mrs. Pitino had the pleasure of coming into contact with some of our local high school graduates now in the workplace. That experience would have totally turned her off about moving here with her school-age children.
