Wednesday, March 7, 2001 | 10:28 a.m.
John Shigley on Tuesday was named president of the Caesars Palace resort on the Las Vegas Strip by parent company Park Place Entertainment Corp.
Shigley previously served as executive vice president of Caesars. He replaces Dean Harrold, who resigned last month.
Shigley was named executive vice president of Caesars in February 2000, shortly after its takeover by Park Place. He previously served as chief financial officer of Primadonna Resorts Inc., and worked in a variety of roles at Caesars World Inc. from 1986 to 1997.
In its new role, Shigley will report to Mark Dodson, co-chief operating officer of Park Place and president of its western casino group.
