Las Vegas tech company buying Florida firm
Las Vegas-based Internet business PurchasePro said it plans to acquire BayBuilder, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based tech company in a deal worth $15 million in cash and stock.
PurchasePro provides e-marketplaces for businesses to cater to each other, a method known as business-to-busineess e-commerce. BayBuilder provides self-service strategic sourcing technology for Fortune 1000 corporations.
The deal is expected to close during the second quarter, PurchasePro said.
In mid-day trading today, PurchasePro's shares were at $10.25, down from Monday's close of $10.69.
