Berlin's philosphy to be addressed
A lecture on the teachings of philosopher Isaiah Berlin is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Friday at UNLV in the Classroom Building Complex, Building B, Room B-225.
Guest speaker Hans Joas, philosophy professor at Free University of Berlin, will examine Berlin's ideas on the human's ability, or inability, to tolerate different values, cultures, beliefs and social norms. Call 895-3104.
UBS providing many locations
Blood drives are scheduled for this week by United Blood Services at these locations:
Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at First National Bank of Marin, 585 Pilot Rd.
Wednesday, 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Palo Verde High School, 333 Pavillion Drive.
Thursday, 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Palo Verde High School, and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rhodes Homes, 20 Rhodes Ranch Parkway.
Friday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Advanced Technologies Academy, 2501 Vegas Drive, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Citibank, 8725 W. Sahara Ave.
Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at LDS Pueblo Stake, 303 S. Cholla St., Henderson, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City.
