Roger Pierre Bessy
Roger Pierre Bessy, 72, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Detroit. A resident for nine years, he was employed by Jackson Middle School in Detroit, was a Korean War Marine Corps veteran, attended Michigan State University where he obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in education, past president of the Great Lakes District Rose City and was a member of the Michigan Alumni, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Detroit Rose Society and the Metropolitan Rose Society.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Ann; and one brother, Robert Bessy of Florida.
Visitation is scheduled 5 p.m. until a 7 p.m. scripture service today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. A private burial will follow.
Ray Burdick
Ray Burdick, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 24, 1924, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for seven years, he was a retired retail business owner and a Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Janice.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Irene J. Bush
Irene J. Bush, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 13, 1917, in St. Paul, Minn. A resident for 17 years, she was a beautician, a Sunday School teacher and member of the church choir for many years at a Lutheran church in St. Paul.
She is survived by six sons, Gerald Hunt of Mukilteo, Wash., Ken Hunt of Pahrump, Douglas W. Hunt of Ione, Wash., Ronald M. Hunt of St. Paul, Ronald Bush of Oakdale, Minn., and Rodger Bush of Osceola, Wis.; three daughters, Beverly Segelstrom and Doris Grebowski, both of Las Vegas and Marilyn Johnson of Mendota Heights, Minn.; two brothers, Herbert Krasky of Las Vegas and Robert Krasky of Twin Cities, Minn.; two sisters, Murriel Brown and Ruth Hawkins, both of Las Vegas; more than 40 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-6 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Louise J. Christie
Louise J. Christie, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born April 8, 1936, in Los Angeles. A resident for 54 years, she was a retired accountant in the banking industry.
She is survived by one sister, Susanne Kirkpatrick of Las Vegas.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Sue Dimarzio
Sue Dimarzio, 93, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 17, 1907, in Italy. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Zrinyi of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Steubenville, Ohio. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Marjorie L. Eisenbrandt
Marjorie L. Eisenbrandt, 84, of Henderson died Friday in Boulder City. She was born July 2, 1916, in New Lenox, Ill. A former resident of Las Vegas for 20 years and a resident of Henderson for two years, she was a retired supervisor for a food distributor.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Pelliteri of Henderson; three sisters, Alta Rowswell of New Lenox and Doris Fink and Jean Adams, both of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Marjorie A. Frank
Marjorie A. Frank, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 2, 1922, in Spokane, Wash. A resident for 39 years, she was a retired psychiatric social worker for the Clark County School District for 30 years.
She is survived by one son, Craig Frank of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is arranging private services.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
Al Hernandez
Al Hernandez, 91, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born June 25, 1909, in the Philippines. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Army major and World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; one daughter, Alana Lambros of Beverly Hills, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Frank G. Medved
Frank G. Medved, 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 9, 1912, in Sunnyside, Utah. A resident for 50 years, he was a dealer.
He is survived by his wife, Lena; one brother, Fred Medved of Mapleton, Utah; and three sisters, Josephine Kilpatrick of Hillsborough, Calif., and Colleen Snelson and Connie Dalton, both of Springville, Utah.
Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Vernon Napier
Vernon Napier, 59, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 14, 1941, in Heyden, Ky. A resident for six years, he was a retired maintenance worker in the housing industry.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; two daughters, Sherry Branham of North Las Vegas and Kathy Napier of Racine, Wis.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Bud Orr
Bud Orr, 41, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Feb. 11, 1960, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 20 years, he was a carpenter, a Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Laborers and Carpenters unions.
He is survived by two sons, Shane Orr of Las Vegas and Nathanial Orr of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three daughters, Joshlyn Orr, Deanna Orr and Fallon Orr, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Diane Nietling of Las Vegas; his father, Vernon Orr Sr. of Delaware; one brother, Cliff Orr of Kansas; and one sister, Debra Hanes of California.
Burial will be private. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Merta Anna Paras
Merta Anna Paras, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 6, 1922, in Marlboro, Mass. A resident for 29 years, she was a Clark County research librarian.
She is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Williams of Las Vegas; one son, Michael Ramsey of Cantonment, Fla.; one sister, Hattie Faye Messinger of Carmel Valley, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Artie Ree Parham
Artie Ree Parham, 58, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 4, 1942, in Arkansas. A resident for 22 years, she was a teacher's aide.
She is survived by three daughters, Angeline Allen of Carthage, Ark., Dimpie Ross of Fordyce, Ark., and Ellen Phillips of Temple, Texas; two brothers, Mack Cones of Fordyce and Ernest Cones of Arkadelphia, Ark.; two sisters, Lizette Ross and Jacqueline Chambers, both of Fordyce; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will be in Fordyce.
Georgia F. Skinner
Georgia F. Skinner, 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 4, 1911, in Lompoc, Calif. a resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one brother, Gordon Skinner of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
