Letter: Las Vegas not healthy place for youngsters
Monday, March 5, 2001 | 9:03 a.m.
It seems that just about daily animal abuse is in the news. As long as children continue to remain in dysfunctional and often abusive homes, the trend will continue and most likely worsen. After animal abuse, comes crimes against people. It is difficult to believe that so many people and agencies that have a duty to nurture and protect children fail to do so. Do they realize what they are creating?
Many who were lured here on the pretense that this is a "family-oriented town" eventually see the truth. The statistics are out there and this is not a good place to raise children. Those who pay attention are leaving Las Vegas for good reasons.
