Betty Jayne Aaron

Betty Jayne Aaron, 80, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 23, 1920, in Cleveland. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired medical secretary and a former Girl Scout leader.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; and one daughter, Teri Lynn Benedetto of Las Vegas.

Clarethel Beatty

Clarethel Beatty, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 27, 1918, in Yerington. A lifelong resident of Nevada, she was a bookkeeper for a credit reporting firm, a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority PEO Chapter G and Las Vegas Junior League.

She is survived by her husband, R. Norrison Beatty; one son, Richard Beatty of Las Vegas; one daughter, Marcia Nicholas of Prescott, Ariz.; one sister, Rachel Gibson of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 Maryland Parkway. Burial will be in Christ Church Columbarium. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Lori Marie Beck

Lori Marie Beck, 40, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 18, 1960, in Fort Wayne, Ind. A resident for 11 years, she was an insurance analyst.

She is survived by her husband, Rick; one son, Tyler Beck of Las Vegas; her parents, William and Thalia Bonta of New Haven, Ind.; and two brothers, Dave Bonta of Spencerville, Ind., and Richard Bonta of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Michael A. Biondi

Michael A. Biondi, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 26, 1933, in Newark, N.J. A resident for eight years, he was a retired bookkeeper in the precious metals industry.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two sons, Paul Dango of Cranford, N.J., and Matthew Biondi of Clark, N.J.; two daughters, Maria Christina Kelly of Rahway, N.J., and Donna Chaillet of Clark; two brothers, Joseph Biondi of Rahway and Anthony Biondi of Las Vegas; one sister, Christina Valenza of Las Vegas; and 14 grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 1:30 p.m. today in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Doris Sarah Britton

Doris Sarah Britton, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday. She was born June 14, 1945, in New Jersey. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired licensed vocational nurse.

She is survived by two sons, Michael K. Gilman and John E. Davidson, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Angela M. Wilkey of Garden Grove, Calif., and Debra J. Davidson of Las Vegas; two sisters, Patricia Evertz of New Jersey and Theresa Dillabough of Big Bear, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Ash Brooks Burton, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 26, 1910, in Paducah, Ky. A resident for many years, he was self-employed in the liquor industry.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell; four daughters, Donna Grant of Prescott, Ariz., Joy Mitchell of Las Vegas, Judy Boulet of Bend, Ore., and Patty Hyatt of Osprey, Fla.; one son, David Burton of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Jean L. Caplan

Jean L. Caplan, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born July 31, 1918, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 26 years, she was a retired gift shop owner-operator and a member of Hadassah.

She is survived by her husband, Howard L.; one daughter, Brenda L. Caplan, and one son, Myron L. Caplan, both of Las Vegas; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

William Gilbert Currie

William Gilbert Currie, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Colorado. A resident for two years, he was a roofer.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Ogas and Patti Currie; and one brother, Robert Currie.

Ronald M. Dickey

Ronald M. Dickey, 41, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 11, 1959, in St. Louis. A resident for many years, he was a sales representative for a concrete supplier.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathleen; and his parents, Ronald A. and Janice Dickey, both of St. Charles, Mo.

James A. Doxey

James A. Doxey, 93, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 7, 1907, in Missouri. A resident for many years, he was a laborer in the manufacturing industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Marybell Doxey of Millstadt, Ill.

Frank Michael Faruch

Frank Michael Faruch, 51, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 17, 1949, in New York. A resident for 45 years, he was a musician and a taxicab driver.

He is survived by one daughter, Tully, his mother, Evelyn Faruch, and one sister, Elena Quirt, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 4 p.m. service Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Shirley Fitzgerald

Shirley Fitzgerald, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 22, 1939, in St. Joe, Ark. A resident for 33 years, she was a human resource manager.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Kerry Shannon Fitzgerald of Las Vegas; two sisters, Donna Ellis of Harrison, Ark., and Pat Kowan of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Bill Silver of Harrison and Ben Silver of California, Mo.

Vyla Julia Millet Freshwater

Vyla Julia Millet Freshwater, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. She was born May 20, 1920, in Burley, Idaho. A resident for 48 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, W. James; two sons, James L. Freshwater and Stewart M. Freshwater, and one daughter, Diane MacArthur, all of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Margaret Evelyn Hernandez

Margaret Evelyn Hernandez, 68, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in North Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Arizona. A resident for two years, she was a bookkeeper for a management consultant.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur.

John Hummel

John Hummel, 53, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 28, 1948, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, he was a Clark County School District principal, a Vietnam War Army veteran, a member of the Latin Chamber of Commerce and the Clark County Association of School Administrators.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica; one son, Evan Hummel of Henderson; his father, Raymond Hummel, one sister, Melissa Stodart, and one brother, Mark Hummel, all of Buffalo.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 5 p.m. rosary Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Monday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Aldean "Carol" Ishmael, 57, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born May 4, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 25 years, she was a millwright in the aircraft industry and a member of the SGI-USA.

Karin 'Momo' Litsheim

Karin "Momo" Litsheim, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born July 5, 1928, in Oslo, Norway. A resident for two years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Arild; two daughters, Karin Monaco and Laurie Wilkins, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Rando Litsheim of Puyallup, Wash., and Sean Litsheim of Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arlene M. Maczko

Arlene M. Maczko, 59, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born May 25, 1941, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired exporter of aviation parts and active with the Salvation Army and Bears of America.

She is survived by her husband, Danny; one daughter, Kathleen McFarland, and two sons, Daniel Scott Maczko and Michael Maczko, all of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.

Ruben P. Magsanoc, 54, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born May 2, 1946, in Manila, Philippines. A resident for eight years, he was a sports book writer for Manpower.

He is survived by five sisters, Angelita Baluyut of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Lillian Pucntespina, Vivien Olaer, Cynthia Robinson, Elizabeth Maucesa and Edgardo Magsanoc, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, Edgardo Magsanoc, Enrique Magsanoc and Rene Magsanoc, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be noon Saturday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

Esther Marber

Esther Marber, 92, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 4, 1908, in New York City. A resident for 48 years, she was a retired clothing store owner and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by one daughter, Beryl Feldman of McKinleyville, Calif.; one son, Samuel J. Marber of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at noon today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial followed Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Rosemond Ruth Mayor

Rosemond Ruth Mayor, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 29, 1916, in Milwaukee. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired executive secretary.

She is survived by three sons, Jordan D. Mayor, Sherman Bennett Mayor and Dr. Lance D. Mayor, and one sister, Lillian Speckter, all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Reginald K. McGraw

Reginald K. McGraw, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday. He was born Jan. 16, 1930, in Sabbatus, Maine. A resident for 22 years, he was a security guard at CitiCorp, A Korean War and Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, and one son, John McGraw, both of Oceanside, Calif.; three daughters, Joan McGraw of Oceanside, Calif., and Kathy Fecteau and Robin Davis, both of Vista, Calif.; one brother, Gordon McGraw of Lewiston, Maine; one sister, Norma Dutille of Saco, Maine; his friend, Marsha Peterson of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Richard Olney

Richard Olney, 67, of Pahrump died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 9, 1933, in Lima, Ohio. A resident for nine years, he was a retired civil service supply inspector and a retired Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, Richard Olney of Pocatello, Idaho, Daniel Olney of Siston, Mo., and Frank Olney of Bassett, Va.; one daughter, Denise Malfet of Virginia; one brother, Ross Olney of Ventura, Calif.; and one sister, Ann Clemens of Oxnard, Calif.

Richard Pasinski, 89, of Boulder City died Friday in Las Vegas. An engineering manager, he was born July 31, 1911, in Michigan.

Ethel Lorene Phillips, 79, of Kansas City, Mo., died Wednesday in a research medical center. She was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Louisville, Kan. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Shockey of Eldorado Hills, Calif., and Sandy Williams of Kansas City; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ora D. Roby

Ora D. Roby, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 29, 1920, in Macon, Miss. A resident for 55 years, she was a retired hotel housekeeper.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Claudie, John and Mark.

She is survived by four daughters, Lillie Roby of Philadelphia, Danella Roby and Ada Roby, both of Las Vegas, and Marge Hall of Lakeview Terrace, Calif.; 29 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Vada Beatrice Springfield

Vada Beatrice Springfield, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 7, 1925, in Hoisington, Kan. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jo Gillespie of Alpine, Utah; two brothers, Charles Cofer of Washington state and James Cofer of Hutchinson, Kan.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Sol Steinhoff, 93, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Jan. 15, 1908, in New York City. A resident for four years, he was a retired wholesaler and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Carl Steinhoff of Las Vegas; one sister, Sid Hoffman of Colorado; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; one daughter, Cheryl Zimowitz of New York; two sons, Mark Sterner of New York and Dale Sterner of Las vegas; one sister, Barbara Silvanik of Las Vegas; one brother, Maurice G. Sterner; and three grandchildren.

Eleanor Meyers Taylor, 45, of Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 12, 1956, in New Orleans. A resident for 1 1/2 years, she was a restaurant manager.

She is survived by one son, Clavalan Meyers of North Las Vegas; her father, Leo Meyers of Chicago; four brothers, Kenneth Meyers and Kevin Meyers, both of Chicago, Terrell Meyers of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Ron Meyers of New York City; one sister, Doris Brown of North Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Alice "Peggy" West, 76, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 19, 1924, in Culbertson, Mont. A resident for 32 years, she was a retired clothing manager.

She is survived by her husband, F.C.; two sons, John West of Las Vegas and Mike West of Henderson; one daughter, Susan Ebert of Henderson; two brothers, Joe Gandrud of Culbertson and Jack Gandrud of Henderson; four sisters, Mary Helen Harsany, Pat Gandrud and Wilma Holden, all of Henderson, and Hazel Settle of Caliente; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Lynn White Jr., 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 3, 1932, in Houston. A resident for 45 years, he was the owner of a construction company and a member of Southern Nevada Bass Masters.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan; four daughters, Linda, Susan, Kim and Debbie, all of Las Vegas; two sons, Roy of Las Vegas and Roger of San Diego; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Saturday in the LDS chapel, Hacienda Heights Ward at Hacienda and El Camino Avenues. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Carlos Savala

Carlos Savala, 13, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 1, 1987, in Bakersfield, Calif. A resident for 12 years, he was a student at Brinley Middle School.

He is survived by his mother, Rebeca Zavala, his father, Martin Angelo, and two sisters, Rene and Norma, all of Las Vegas; and one brother, Alejandro of Mexico.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way, followed by burial in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., handled arrangements.
