Thursday, March 1, 2001 | 9:56 a.m.
Las Vegans who have not been able to contact family members in the quake-affected area may get help from the Southern Nevada Chapter of the Red Cross, Carolyn Levering of the Las Vegas office, said.
Inquiries from immediate family members will be accepted after 11:17 a.m. today at 791-3311, ext. 3007. The Red Cross enforces a 24-hour waiting period after a disaster for such requests.
The Red Cross will need the full name, address and phone number of the person being sought, the date of last contact with the person and other helpful information such as the name and address of the person's employer. If the person is a student, the Red Cross needs the name of the school or university.
To help the victims of this and other disasters, contributions may be sent to the local chapter, American Red Cross of Southern Nevada, 1330 E. Karen Ave., Suite B, Las Vegas, NV 89109, or call (702) 791-3311, ext. 3018.
