For March 1, 2001
LAKE MEAD: There has been light fishing pressure during the past week because of storms that have swept the area.
Striped bass continue to be caught at the 33 Hole, below the Las Vegas Bay campground, and along the Hemenway Wall in the Boulder Basin. Fish Island and the Virgin Bowl have yielded some results for anglers who have been fishing in the Overton Arm.
There has been little success for largemouth bass or channel catfish during the past week. Black crappie traditionally begin biting in the Muddy and Virgin rivers during March.
LAKE MOHAVE: Very few boaters have been on the water due to storms, but those who have been fishing have had fair results for striped bass near Eldorado Canyon and the north power lines. Boaters are catching stripers that weigh around two pounds by chumming and trolling through the bait.
