Several businesses will host drives
United Blood Services, 6930 W. Charleston Blvd., will conduct blood drives at these locations:
Wednesday 2-7 p.m. at Katz McMillan Elementary School, 1800 Rock Springs Drive; noon-6 p.m. at Economic Opportunity Board, 2500 W. Washington Ave., and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Arizona Charlie's, 740 S. Decatur Blvd.
Thursday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hyatt Regency, 101 Montelago Blvd., Henderson; and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at Household Credit Services, 1111 Town Center Drive.
Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Barbary Coast, 3595 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Wal-Mart/SNA, 540 Marks St., Henderson; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Maggie Moo's Ice Cream, 9711 S. Eastern Ave.; 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the LDS Central Stake, 1101 N. Pecos Road.
July 2 7 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Orleans, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.

Laughlin, Searchlight opens houses set
The Metro Police Laughlin Substation will hold an open house 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Searchlight Senior Center.
Transportation will be provided to Laughlin senior citizens who want to attend the open house. A bus will leave Laughlin from the Spirit Mountain Recreation Center at 11 a.m., and lunch will be provided noon to 12:30 p.m.

Another open house will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Laughlin Substation, 101 Civic Way. For more information call 298-2223.
Newly elected North Las Vegas
city officials will take their oaths of office 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at North Las Vegas City Hall. Michael Montandon will be sworn in as mayor after winning re-election in the primary. Stephanie Smith and Robert Eliason will be sworn in as council members.
