Catherine 'Kay' Asquith

Catherine "Kay" Asquith, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born July 10, 1925, in Northfield, Minn. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired accountant.

She is survived by her husband, Vance B.; five sons, Dave Mattice of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Bruce Asquith of Prescott, Ariz., Roger Asquith of Las Molinas, Calif., Jerry Asquith of La Mesa, Calif., and Steve Asquith of Las Vegas; one brother, Jay Collins of Rosemont, Minn.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Thomas P. Baker

Thomas P. Baker, 69, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. He was born Dec. 12, 1931, in Akron, Ohio. A resident for six years, he was a retired electrician at General Motors, an Air Force veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two sons, William Baker of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Eugene Baker of Phoenix; and one brother, Edwin Baker of Berkeley, Calif.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Lois Clayton

Lois Clayton, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born June 13, 1929, in Wabash, Ind. A resident for 1 1/2 years, she was retired, was a homemaker and a member of the Eagles.

She is survived by one daughter, Debbra Mitchell of Las Vegas; one son, Dan Myers of Kokomo, Ind.; two sisters, Beatrice Dillman of Churubusco, Ind., and Wilma Neaville of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Mitchell Copeland of Kokomo and Leon Copeland of Peru, Ind.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Lore G. Cook

Lore G. Cook, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 15, 1930, in Germany. A resident for 32 years, she was an assembly worker for Ethel M's.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie May Edwards of Henderson and Debra K. Terracciano of Las Vegas; two sons, Richard E. Cook Jr. and John C. Cook, both of Henderson; one brother, Herbert Poethkow of Germany; one sister, Magret Landers of Addison, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Willie Cooper

Willie Cooper, 81, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born July 25, 1919, in Greenwood, Miss. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired checker for a food distributor.

He is survived by his wife, Malinda; three daughters, Lisa Cooper of Henderson and Carolyn Cooper-Blue and Lynda Cooper, both of Detroit; three sons, Allen Cooper and William Cooper, both of Las Vegas, and Phillip Cooper of Detroit; three sisters, Delisha Carter of Florida, Mamie Marshall of Chicago and Reatha Blissett of Clarksdale, Miss.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Patrick Donald Eakin

Patrick Donald Eakin, 39, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 7, 1961, in Redding, Calif. A resident for 38 years, he was disabled.

He is survived by his mother, Dolores Eakin, and one brother, Ray Eakin, both of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Monica Lauer of Las Vegas and Melissa McCandless of Denver.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Ashley Catherine Faubel, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died Wednesday, her date of birth. She was born June 20, 2001. Her parents were residents of Las Vegas for three years.

She is survived by her parents, Chad and Wendy Faubel of Mount Pleasant; her grandparents, Ann Ohl of Peoria, Ill., Dan Faubel of San Antonio and Jim and Cathy Reder of Burlington, N.C.; and her great-grandparents, Fer Robbins of Victoria, Ill., Bob and Shirley Bristow of Burlington and Jim and Arlene Reder of Tinley Park, Ill.

Joan Marie Finneran

Joan Marie Finneran, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 26, 1925, in Ohio. A resident for 27 years, she was an artist and a member of the Nevada Poetry Society.

She is survived by her husband, Ted; two sons, Timothy and Kevin; three daughters, Denise, Sheila and Colleen; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Evelynne Hakos

Evelynne Hakos, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Oregon. A resident for many years, she was a secretary.

She is survived by one brother-in-law, Al Hakos of California; and one nephew, Bill Tesbir of Connecticut.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Eula Harvey

Eula Harvey, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Texas. A resident for many years, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by one son, Thomas J. Thompson of Las Vegas.

Richard A. Kammer

Richard A. Kammer, 49, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 13, 1951, in Fort Bragg, N.C. A resident for 11 years, he was a laborer in the construction industry.

He is survived by one daughter, Jackie Lynn Kammer of Alabama; one son, Richard Louks of Michigan; his mother and stepfather, Audrey and Paul Ellis of Las Vegas; two brothers, Terry Kammer of California and Kirk Kammer of Marysville, Mich.; one sister, Lenora McCurdy of Henderson; and four grandchildren.

Dorothy Katz

Dorothy Katz, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 4, 1934, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired hotel receptionist.

She is survived by four daughters, Adele Cheri Rasmussen of Las Vegas, Lisa Herschelman of Garland, Texas, Debbie Gerber of Schaumburg, Ill., and Lynn Shull of Denver; one brother, Norman Fink of Pasadena, Texas; one sister, Marilyn Oldfield of Elizabeth, N.J.; and 10 grandchildren.

Anthony C. Manno, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for six years, he was a retired mechanic in the electronics industry and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary M.; two sons, Vincent Manno of Las Vegas and Thomas Manno of Phoenix; one sister, Margaret Damiani of Ann Arbor, Mich.; one brother, Gene Manno of Rochester; and six grandchildren.

Dollena Maxwell, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. A homemaker, she was born June 6, 1916, in Jackson, Tenn.

She is survived by one son, George Maxwell; three daughters, Eileen Hughes, Shirley Burns and Irene Lay; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation was scheduled until 6 p.m. today with a wake following at 7 p.m. at Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Louis Scalzi

Louis Scalzi, 88, of Las Vegas died May 22 in Las Vegas. A veteran, he was born Sept. 15, 1912.

Burial was in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Robert Shook

Robert Shook, 78, of Las Vegas died May 25 in Las Vegas. An Army veteran, he was born Aug. 18, 1922.

Victoria Verre

Victoria Verre, 81, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Chicago. A resident for five years, she was a retired dental office manager.

She is survived by one son, Richard Verre of Claremont, Calif.; one daughter, Judy Kozal of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Chon Villalpando

Chon Villalpando, 94, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 4, 1906, in Mexico. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Dunes hotel laundry porter.

He is survived by four daughters, Flavia Villalpando, Guadalupe Gomez and Maria Villalpando, all of Las Vegas, and Elsa Sandoval of San Diego; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Floyd Wright

Floyd Wright, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a senior care center. He was born Oct. 31, 1914, in Avoca, Minn. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired builder and developer and a member of the Home Builders Association.

He is survived by his wife, Emily; one son, Brian Wright, and one daughter, Judith Christensen, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Wyss of LaMirada, Calif.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
