CARSON CITY -- Nevada's jobless rate dropped half a percentage point to 4.4 percent in May as the number of unemployed Nevadans dropped to 41,300, a new report showed Wednesday.
The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation said the seasonally adjusted May rate matches the national rate and is under neighboring California's 4.9 percent rate.
The department's labor market analysts estimate that during May, the Las Vegas area had an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.1 percent, down from 4.8 percent in April.
The Reno area's unadjusted estimated May jobless rate was 3.4 percent, down from 4 percent a month earlier.
