Passenger in car killed in drive-by shooting

A passenger in a car who was shot in the head late Tuesday in an apparent drive-by shooting died this morning.
The 29-year-old North Las Vegas man, who was riding in the back seat of the car, was hit when several shots were fired from a black pickup about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, Metro Police said.
The shooting took place on Pecos Road near San Antonio Avenue. The victim, whose name was not available this morning, was taken to University Medical Center, where he died at 3:45 a.m.
The other two men in the car told police they had no idea why someone would shoot at them, but they said they saw the truck following them, said Lt. Wayne Petersen of Metro's homicide unit.
