Monday, June 18, 2001 | 9:07 a.m.

Tyson Foods Inc. recently donated 30,000 pounds of chicken to the Community Food Bank of Clark County.

"The donation from Tyson will help us meet the demand for food assistance," Bessie Braggs, executive director of the Community Food Bank of Clark County, said. "And best of all, we will be able to provide high-quality protein, a product that is often missing in food banks, to our recipients."

The donation is providing 150,000 meals to people in need in Las Vegas. The Community Food Bank of Clark County hands out more than 3 million pounds of food and other essential items annually to those in need.

The donation is part of Tyson's three-year partnership with the leading anti-hunger organization, Share our Strength. Tyson and Share our Strength will be giving a total of 6.5 million pounds of food to hungry Americans across the country.
