An 18-year-old Las Vegas man pleaded guilty to first-degree murder Thursday in the January shooting death of his brother-in-law.
As a result of a plea agreement, Jason Webber will be sentenced to 20 years to life in prison by District Judge Joseph Bonaventure on July 25.
According to police, Webber disliked his new brother-in-law, Marc Lohr, 31, and Lohr was not allowed into his grandmother's home.
When Webber's sister snuck her husband into the house on Jan. 16, Lohr and Webber began arguing.
Webber pulled out a gun and began shooting Lohr as he tried to run out the front door, police said.
When police arrived, Lohr had a stabilizing bar from a car in his hand and Webber claimed he shot Lohr in self defense.
Police determined that the bar had been placed in Lohr's hand after he was shot.
