Vegas performer claims she was secretly taped

A former performer for a show at Caesars Palace hotel-casino sued the show's supervisor, alleging she was secretly videotaped by the defendant in her dressing room in 1999.
Sherry Griffith of Hillsborough, N.J., sued Corey Gibson, a supervisor and illusion technician for the Magic of David Copperfield show at Caesars' Circus Maximus Theater, alleging she discovered she had been secretly videotaped by Gibson in her dressing room after reviewing the tape.
Griffith, who said Gibson intruded on her right to privacy, said the video camera was confiscated by Metro police after she complained.
"It's not against the law to surreptitiously videotape someone in a compromising situation unless the person is a child and meets the criteria for use of a minor in production of pornography. But it is morally reprehensible," said Metro Sgt. Russ Shoemaker.
He said no arrests were made in the Griffith case because "there is not now and was not then a law that criminalizes that conduct."
The defendant could not be reached for comment.
