The National Junior College Athletic Association has announced that future UNLV basketball player Marcus Banks has been selected as one of 19 finalists for the team that will represent the United States at the 2001 Confederation of Pan American Basketball Associations Tournament of the Americas.
Banks played the last two years at Dixie College in St. George, Utah, and last fall he signed a national letter of intent to enroll at UNLV this fall.
The 6-2 guard averaged 17 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4 assists last year for Dixie and was named a first-team NJCAA All-American. He attended Cimarron-Memorial High School before going to St. George.
