LAKE MEAD: Striped bass fishing continues to improve as boaters are catching fish with top water lures and by drifting bait in the Boulder Basin and Overton Arm.

Nevada Division of Wildlife creel clerks said the best area in the Boulder Basin has been off Boulder Beach, where boaters are catching stripers that are feeding on the surface. Other areas that have produced stripers this week are the open water from Black Island to Saddle Island and the channel heading into Las Vegas Bay. Shore fishing has been fair at Boulder Beach.

A pair of boaters who were fishing north of Overton Beach Marina on Tuesday were rewarded for their efforts with five channel catfish and 24 stripers.

Largemouth bass are being caught in the Virgin River area just north of the narrows. The action for channel catfish has been good at night in deep water coves.

LAKE MOHAVE: Rainbow trout fishing has been fair to good following the weekly trout plants at Willow Beach. Some success for striped bass that range from 11-13 inches has come from that part of the lake in recent days.

The narrows above Cottonwood Cove continue to produce stripers for boaters who are drift-fishing with baits. Other areas where anglers have had recent success for stripers are Nevada Bay at night and Owl's Point.
