Pair die in apparent murder-suicide

Two people were killed Thursday night when Metro Police say a man shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself after an argument.
The apparent murder-suicide happened at about 8:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Rose Coral Avenue, near Vegas and Tonopah drives.
"There were apparently three teenage girls in the house that heard an argument, and then heard shots," Metro homicide Lt. Wayne Petersen said.
A 37-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were found shot to death in the home's master-bedroom. A hundgun was found next to the bodies, Peterson said. The couple's names were not released this morning by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
Police say that preliminary investigation shows that the man shot and killed his wife before shooting himself.
The house where the apparent murder-suicide occured is next door to the home of Las Vegas City Councilman Lawrence Weekly.
"I was at a meeting, and my wife called and said I'd better hurry home," Weekly said as he stood by the police tape near his home.
