Lady Rebels add four to recruiting class

The UNLV women's basketball has added four players to its 2001-02 roster, head coach Regina Miller announced this week.
Joining the Lady Rebels next season will be junior transfers Julia Gray and Casey Homan and incoming freshmen Sherry McCracklin and Candice Sneed.
"After evaluating our team's needs last year based on graduation, our goal was to improve defensively in the perimeter, replace (departed) Dayna Gambill at point guard, and add some rebounding," Miller said. "With this group, we've done that."
Gray, a 5-7 point guard from Riverside, Calif., transferred to UNLV last year from the University of Washington and sat out the season. Gray started 52 of 59 games and averaged 4.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. She also broke the UW single-game record with 11 steals as a freshman against Gonzaga.
Homan, a product of Reno, also sat out last season, transferring to UNLV after playing two seasons at St. Bonaventure.
McCracklin signed a national letter of intent with UNLV during the early signing period last fall. The younger sister of current Lady Rebel forward Dishawn McCracklin, Sherry is a 6-2 post player from Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, Ill.
Sneed is the latest addition to the program, signing a letter of intent this spring. She is a 5-6 point guard from Glendale, Ariz.
