Gang slaying suspect nabbed

North Las Vegas Police have arrested the last of six gang members sought in connection with the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Joe "Doughboy" Williams.

Antwan Lamont "T-Wak" Graves surrendered to police about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at a North Las Vegas apartment.

Williams was found March 3 shot several times in front of the Buena Vista Springs Apartment complex in the 2500 block of Morton Avenue. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.

Ashley "Face" Bennett, 27, Lailoni Morrison, 21, and Wayne Anthony "Wacky-G" Gantt, 17, are charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder with use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang.

Similar charges against Louis "Chew" Matthews, 19, and Jermaine "Wing" Webb, 16, were dismissed Tuesday after a witness recanted her testimony.

All five are members of the same gang, and Williams was a member of a rival gang, police said.

Police say gang violence is to blame for eight of the 12 homicides they have investigated this year.

LV man found dead in car

A 41-year-old Las Vegas man was found dead Wednesday in the back seat of a car parked near Bonanza Road and Eastern Avenue.

The body was found in a gold 1990 Chrysler New Yorker in a parking lot about 1:45 p.m., Metro Police said.

Witnesses told detectives that the car was not in the lot at 9:20 a.m., but was there at 1 p.m.

An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death, but the victim had obvious head injuries, police said.

Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call police at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.

Five named in criminal complaint

Five people have been named in a criminal complaint in connection with a noontime takeover style robbery Tuesday at a northwest Las Vegas bank.

Rashad Anthony, Isais Wilfredo Carrillo, Michael Anthony Curry, Troy Davon Yates and Tomika Renae Wall are alleged in the complaint to have robbed Nevada First Bank, 950 S. Rampart Blvd.

The complaint alleges that the four men wearing nylon stocking masks entered the bank waving handguns and ordering everyone to get down. The complaint also alleges that Wall acted as the getaway driver in the robbery, and that all five suspects were from Los Angeles.

All five were taken into custody by Metro Police and the FBI on Tuesday.
