Girls would benefit from life at camp
Thursday, June 7, 2001 | 10:25 a.m.
A mother of three girls recently went through a tough divorce and says her daughters need a break from the family problems.
"My girls have been through a bad divorce and an abusive father," the mother says. The single mom takes her daughters to counseling, but a tight budget leaves money for little else.
"We go without a lot," the mother says.
She hopes her daughters can get away from their problems for a while at camp this summer.
Sometimes it's simple things, such as toasting marshmallows and singing around the campfire and being around camp counselors who are positive role models, that are the memories a child carries with her through life.
By joining other contributors to the Sun Camp Fund, you are making a difference in a child's life.
