Big warehouse set for North Las Vegas

Sysco Corp. of Houston said its Las Vegas subsidiary acquired land in North Las Vegas to build a 275,000-square-foot food service distribution center at Centennial Parkway and Mt. Hood Road.

Sysco subsidiary Sysco Food Services of Las Vegas Inc., which said its complex will include warehouse storage areas and offices, said construction will begin in June and operations will start in the third quarter of 2002.

The company, which will supply food to restaurants, health care centers, schools and universities in Southern Nevada, Southern Utah and Northern Arizona, said it will hire about 400 workers at the center when it opens and hire another 200 by 2005.
