Casino operator praised for tech workers’ environment

Harrah's Entertainment Inc.'s information technology department is one of the nation's top tech department's to work for, a survey conducted by trade magazine Computerworld found.

The Las Vegas-based casino operator came in third, behind Home Depot and Nationwide Insurance of Columbus, Ohio.

The results are from an online survey of chief information officers, vice presidents and hiring executives at Fortune 1000 and major high tech consulting firms conducted between January and March.

Based on the criteria that prospective employees find most important, companies were measured on diversity, training, career development, benefits, hot projects and retention.
