Wedding wonders
Cue the music. Order the flowers. Don't forget the rice.
It's wedding season once again. And it just keeps getting weirder, folks.
So on with the silliness or, at least, "Wendy's Wedding."
Created by 1-800-WEDDING, a national referral service for brides in search of wedding pros (and a marketing tool for vendors), "Wendy's Wedding" is a documentary-type show that airs in segments on the website 1800wedding.com.
If they aren't already nervous enough about their own upcoming nuptials, brides in cyberspace can watch another bride-to-be, the 25-year-old Wendy, and her fiance take six months to plan their wedding.
A videographer will capture all of the stress-filled moments on tape from arguing over the budget to settling on rings, choosing which friends and/or relatives to include in the wedding party and through the moment they say "I do."
We can only assume that the honeymoon footage will be shown on one of those, um, other sites.
For better or worse
A sarcastic bride and groom will love this: Say goodbye to those boring old cake toppers that feature a contented plastic couple staring blankly into their butter cream-covered future.
Retailer Fortunoff has introduced a tongue-in-cheek topper of a stressed-out bride lunging at her new, confused-looking hubby, her hands clamped firmly around his neck.
It might not say much for the state of the new marriage whose bright idea was it to pay $39.99 for a cake topper, anyhow? but at least wedding guests will get a laugh.
To purchase the topper, visit Fortunoff.com.
Lights, camera, action
Maybe you prefer matrimonial matches made in Hollywood. They're always so, well, interesting to say the least.
But we're talking about the scripted ones (aren't they all?) between characters on some of our favorite television shows. Posted on the website ivillage.com is a TV wedding trivia quiz. Test your pop-culture knowledge here with a sampling of the questions:
