Joe Delaney remembers 1997: Frankie Valli at the Desert Inn
Friday, June 1, 2001 | 9:23 a.m.
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons have had a long successful history as headliners in Las Vegas. In recent years they have joined other groups that had their first major recording hits in the 1950s and 1960s, such as the Everly Brothers, Righteous Brothers and Smothers Brothers, as Orleans Showroom regulars. Valli's 3 1/2-octave range gave their blend a distinctive sound, especially when he effortlessly glides into a spectacular falsetto. Hits such as "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like A Man," "Candy Girl" and "Rag Doll" are still in demand, active in record-label catalogs.
