Letter: Without illegals, no produce

On July 27 the Sun printed a letter from David Wolf regarding Mexican illegals, "Let Mexico take care of its own."

Before this gets much support, Wolf and all other like-thinking individuals should drive through the Central Valley of California, where much of our fruit and produce comes from.

They would find that 90-plus percent of all the workers were from Mexico. Why? Simple, the work is beneath all of the Central Valley's welfare sponges, so who else can they get to do this back-breaking work?

The "usual welfare suspects" think that virtually any work is beneath them, so we must pay illegals to do what they can. Personally, I like fruit and vegetables!

Be careful what you wish for!
