Also, Daniel Greenspun, vice president of the Sun, will receive the Arts and Humanities Award for public service.

Thrift store plans crucial sale

Las Vegas' first thrift shop, the Junior League's Repeat Boutique, needs help to keep its doors open. In an effort to do this it is having a sale through the end of August, marking everything half off.

The Repeat Boutique sells donated items, including furniture, toys, books, housewares and clothes. The store, at 100 S. Maryland Parkway, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Junior League members operate the store.
