Francis A. Cardwell

Francis A. Cardwell, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born March 10, 1916, in Scotland. A resident for six years, he was in the Merchant Marines and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha; one son, Kenneth Cardwell of New York; and two grandchildren.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

William Dawson

William Dawson, 52, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 24, 1948, in California. A resident for 50 years, he was a florist.

He is survived by his wife, Raye Jefferson-Dawson of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park.

Virginia R. Dotson

Virginia R. Dotson, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 5, 1920, in Glasco, Kan. A resident for 60 years, she was a retired bookkeeper for an electrical supplier.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Newton of Las Vegas; two brothers, Robert Teasley of Phoenix and Richard Teasley of Glasco; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

T. Edward Elkington

T. Edward Elkington, 96, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 8, 1905, in Briton, Mich. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired office manager for a manufacturing firm, an Army veteran, a member of the Eastern Star and the Shriners.

He is survived by one son, Thomas E. Elkington of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Bruce S. Ewaschuk

Bruce S. Ewaschuk, 42, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 12, 1958, in China Lake, Calif. A resident for six years, he was a computer technician.

He is survived by his fiancee, Sherry Thompson, one son, Zack Ewaschuk, his mother, Linda Ewaschuk, and one sister, Terri Ewaschuk, all of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View Seventh Day Adventist Church, 6001 W. Oakey Blvd. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Martin R. Goodman

Martin R. Goodman, 41, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 23, 1960, in Dover, Del. A resident for 32 years, he was an elementary school teacher.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Karen Goodman; his mother, Elaine Goodman of Henderson; one sister, Lori Fowler of San Mateo, Calif.; and three brothers, Preston Goodman and Scott Goodman, both of Henderson, and Daniel Goodman of Kansas City, Mo.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Cathy Ann Green

Cathy Ann Green, 48, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 11, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas. A lifelong resident, she was a thrift store clerk/cashier.

She is survived by her parents, Loyal D. and Venna M. Green of North Las Vegas; one sister, Wanda K. Richards of Mesa, Ariz.; and three brothers, Paul D. Green and Jeffrey A. Green, both of North Las Vegas and Steven G. Green of Kaysville, Utah.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in the Civic Center and Tonopah LDS Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ronald D. Hand

Ronald D. Hand, 38, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 28, 1962, in Emmitt, Calif. A resident for three years, he was a casino floorman.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his father, Homer Hand of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and three sisters, Rhonda Gale Haycraft of Apache Junction, Carolyn Moore of Cascade, Va., and Lisa Hand of Texas.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

LaVera Henrie Hannig

LaVera Henrie Hannig, 86, of Boulder City died Monday in Prescott, Ariz. She was born Dec. 14, 1914, in Panguitch, Utah. A resident for 59 years, she owned and operated LaVera's Dress Shop in Boulder City for 40 years.

She is survived by five daughters, Doris Purcell of San Jose, Calif., Florence Reynolds of Prescott, Ariz., Sharline Voss of Colorado Springs, Colo., Joan Mueller of Reno and Sandra Newman of Boulder City; one son, Heber Tobler of Overton; one half-sister, Hazel Dean Wignall of Payson, Utah; 21 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Friday in the Fifth Street LDS Chapel, Boulder City. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Enid Majors

Enid Majors, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Burlington, Iowa. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired retail cashier.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Edwards and Sandy Jones, both of Las Vegas, and Karen Young of Riverside, Calif.; two sons, Gary Majors of Reno and Raymond Majors of Las Vegas; three sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Buena Abernathy, both of Overland Park, Kan., and Del Creekmur of Lady Lake, Fla., one brother, Robert Krekel of Manhattan, Kan.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Richard Dale McInnis

Richard Dale McInnis, 67, of Las Vegas and Pahrump died Tuesday in Pahrump. He was born March 6, 1934, in Caribou, Maine. A resident of Southern Nevada for 27 years, he was a small-business owner in Las Vegas prior to his retirement in 2000, a retired Army master sergeant and paratrooper who earned two Purple Hearts during his service in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; one son, Robert McInnis of Pahrump; one daughter, Karen Leavens of Las Vegas; his mother and stepfather, Marie and Kermit Elliott of Cornish, Maine; two sisters, Alma McInnis of Brunswick, Maine, and Louella DeWulf of Chesterton, Ind.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Merle Ann Passet

Merle Ann Passet, 74, of Henderson died Sunday in Oceanside, Calif. She was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Colorado. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Maggie Nichols of Oceanside, Calif., and Johanna Hankins of North Vernon, Ind.; two sons, Walter Passet of Encinitas, Calif., and Bill Sheehy of Los Angeles; one sister, Bernadette Kirgan of Denver; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be private.

Mary Anne Rinehart

Mary Anne Rinehart, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 25, 1938, in Minden, Neb. A resident for seven years, she was a retired physical therapist.

She is survived by her husband, Lee R.; her mother, Mary Cronin of Minden; three sisters, Marcia Krueger of Minden, Catherine Davis of Denver and Patricia Withers of Alton, Ill.; and one brother, William Cronin of Brainerd, Minn.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Sharon Louise Risley

Sharon Louise Risley, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 25, 1940, in Reno. A resident for 39 years, she was an employee of the Clark County School District.

She is survived by her partner, Bob Brown; two sons, Neil Dalmas and Dale Dalmas; one daughter, Wendy Edwards; and four grandchildren.

A celebration of Sharon's life will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in Turner Greenhouse, 4455 Quadrel St. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Lila Hyacinth Rowan

Lila Hyacinth Rowan, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 21, 1919, in Illinois. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Dimond and Megan Weeks, both of Las Vegas; one stepson, Kenneth Rowan Jr. of Missouri; two sisters, Mary Utterback of Utah and Betty Calhoun of Illinois; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Alice Y. Sarnblad

Alice Y. Sarnblad, 97, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born April 29, 1904, in Mount Carmel, Quebec. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Donald Sarnblad of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will be in Riverside, Calif.

Lucille Marie Summers

Lucille Marie Summers, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Topeka, Kan. A resident for six years, she was a retired aerospace technician.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; two sons, David Buchman of Long Beach, Calif., and Charles Summers of Los Alamitos, Calif.; one daughter, Theresa Stotler of Long Beach; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until a 6 p.m. rosary today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Harriett Lewis Tripp

Harriett Lewis Tripp, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 27, 1928, in North Carolina. A resident for two years, she was a flea market retailer.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheri Mangione of Las Vegas; two sisters, Nell Whelchel and Helen Taylor, both of Florida; and three grandchildren.

Roni Welk

Roni Welk, 48, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1953, in Los Angeles. A resident for nine years, she was a customer service representative.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, Earl and Judy Welk of San Clemente, Calif.; and two sisters, Gayle Tritz of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Wendy Barrash of Schaumburg, Ill.
