Nevada State Bank backs Lied Museum
By making an annual commitment of $20,000, Nevada State Bank became the newest member of the Lied Discovery Children's Museum's "Stars for Children" campaign.

The Lied Animal Shelter
needs volunteers to devote a few hours a week to cats and dogs. Call Pam Lepre at 384-3333.
Free clinical breast exams
and reduced cost mammograms will be offered 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at St. Rose Dominican Hospital's Siena Campus, 3001 St. Rose Parkway. Call 616-4900.
Ballplayers to host event at Stardust
"Ballplayers Against Drunk Driving," a benefit in memory of Kevin Nara, a 21-year-old who was killed in a drunken-driving accident, will be 11 a.m.-7 p.m.Friday at the Stardust hotel.
Events include autograph sessions with retired major league ballplayers, a putting contest, free throw contest and raffle.
Proceeds will go to STOP DUI. For more information, call 456-7867.
A poolside performance
by the band Beach Party Central will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Black Mountain Recreation Center. Call 565-2367.
