Host families needed to house visitors
Educational Merit Foundation, a nonprofit student exchange organization, is seeking volunteer host families for high school students from Europe, Japan and Korea.
The students will arrive in August to attend local public schools for one or two semesters and are eager to experience life in America. They speak English, have their own spending money and medical insurance, and expect to share their host family's daily life, including household responsibilities.

The Metro Police Laughlin substation
is organizing a rubber tube rafting trip from Laughlin to Needles on Aug. 18 for children of Laughlin and Searchlight, as well as other programs for students 12 and under and teens. For more information, call the Laughlin substation at 298-2223.
