Friday, July 20, 2001 | 8:43 a.m.
The Las Vegas Photography Center is celebrating the winners of its first membership competition. Their photography is on display as a group exhibit at the center, 3626 N. Rancho Drive. There is no charge for admission.
Winners from the Level I category were Rhonda Newman and Carol Treat. An honorable mention in this category was awarded to Nancy Murphy. Winners from the Level II category were Joe Thomson and Jim King.
The black and white prints were judged by center instructors on concept, composition, printing, aesthetics and impact. The center plans to donate several prints to the Shade Tree Women and Children's Shelter when the exhibit closes the middle of August.
For more information on the exhibit, contact the Las Vegas Photography Center, 656-6400.
