StumbleAskew takes 10th at North Amateur

UNLV men's golf sophomore Brandon Askew fired a final-round 72 Thursday to hold on for a 10th-place finish at the 35th Northern Amateur at Sand Creek Golf Club in Chesterton, Ind.
Askew, who stayed in the top 10 throughout the four-round tournament, finished seven strokes behind former Indiana University player Steven Wheatcroft, who won the event with a 10- under par 278.
Also representing UNLV at the Northern Amateur was junior Robert Sul, who slipped to 30th place overall after a four-over par 76 on Thursday.
