Letter: Bush has failed his probation
Thursday, July 19, 2001 | 9:01 a.m.
I have kept quiet and waited and, I might add, hoped for the best. But let's be completely honest. President Bush in his first 6 months (employment probation period in the private sector) has proposed policies that will hurt the environment, education and the economy. We have seen him propose:
Cutting taxes for the very, very rich; allowing arsenic in our drinking water, drilling for oil in our national parks; investing Social Security funds in the risky stock market; ending a woman's right to choose; rolling back worker safety laws; and building up the expensive, failed Star Wars missile defense system, etc.
When I saw that picture of him in Europe holding a box of Belgium chocolates, I knew Forrest Gump is still alive and kicking -- what a nitwit! This spoiled, wealthy, liar can't even raise his two daughters correctly!
The U.S. Supreme Court members, who put him in office, should be given life sentences for doing this to America!
