Golf: UNLV’s Askew in 10th at Northern Amateur

UNLV sophomore golfer Brandon Askew sits in 10th place Wednesday after the third round of the Northern Amateur at Sand Creek Golf Course in Chestertown, Ind., improving to 1-over par with a 71.
He is just six strokes behind Indiana University grad Steven Wheatcroft and University of Michigan linkster Andy Matthews, the co-leaders.
Also representing UNLV at the Northern Amateur is junior Robert Sul, who carded a 76 on Wednesday after making the cut after round two. Sul slipped to 27th place overall at 6-over par.
The final round of the four-day event is today.
