Charles R. Barr

Charles R. Barr, 52, of Las Vegas died July 4 in a local hospital. A security officer for GSI Security for six years and a member of the North American Hunting Club, he was born March 12, 1949, in San Diego.

He is survived by his wife, Edrene; two sons, Adam Barr of Bakersfield, Calif., and Jacob Barr of Sacramento; his father, Wilbur Barr of Blossom, Texas; two brothers, Jimmie Barr of Allen, Texas, and Raymond of Paris, Texas; and one sister, Beth Matlock of Tucson, Ariz.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.

Weston Graber 'Wes' Birket

Weston Graber "Wes" Birket, 39, of Weatherford, Kan., died Monday in Oklahoma City. He was born June 14, 1962, in Las Vegas. A former Las Vegas resident, he was an automobile salesman.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Larry and Donna Neese, and one sister, Sandra Moore, all of Las Vegas; and one brother, Clifford Birket of Weatherford, Okla.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Kansas. Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, Kan., is handling arrangements.

Louis Brown

Louis Brown, 64, of Las Vegas died July 8 in a local hospital. He was born July 26, 1936, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 31 years, he was a salesman in the catering industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Diana Brown and Bonnie Ellingson, and one sister, Leona Mulherin, all of Las Vegas.

Graveside services were 1:30 p.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Thomas R. Brown

Thomas R. Brown, 47, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 25, 1954 in Pennsylvania. A resident for 20 years, he was a taxi driver and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Roxanne; two sons, Adam Brown and Thomas J. Brown, and one daughter, Kristi Brown, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Ronald Brown of Maryland and Jeffery Brown of Texas; and two sisters, Robin Brown of Texas and Kim Miller of California.

Clarke-Gregoire

Monica Clarke-Gregoire, 53, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 6, 1948, in Boston. A resident for seven years, she was a registered nurse at Mountain View Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Gregoire; one daughter, Kristian Piso of Worcester, Mass.; and three sisters, Fran Clarke, Joanne Clarke and Ruth Clarke, all of Massachusetts.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 4 p.m. service Thursday in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

Steven Dycus

Steven Dycus, 49, of Las Vegas died June 18 in Las Vegas. He was born July 25, 1951, in Indiana.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

John 'Jack' Fitzpatrick

John "Jack" Fitzpatrick, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 11, 1928 in Ottawa, Ill. A resident for 14 years, he was a porter at Arizona Charlie's and a member of Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by one son, John Fitzpatrick of Illinois; four daughters, Glenda Boettcher and Nance Marshall, both of Illinois, Gayle Newman of California and Brenda Pemberton of Wyoming; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be in Illinois. Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling arrangements.

Larry Bryan Forbach

Larry Bryan Forbach, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 17, 1934, in Kickapoo, Kan. A resident for 43 years, he was a business owner for 43 years of Hyde Park TV and an Air Force veteran for six years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, to whom he was married 42 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Karen Parquette, and one son, Bryan Forbach, both of Las Vegas; and five granddaughters.

Private graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Robert Glenn Gaylord

Robert Glenn Gaylord, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Glendale, Calif. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired general manager for a car dealership and a Marine Corps veteran during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margaret S.; five daughters, Jeri L. Getty and Katy Cummings, both of San Diego, Kelly R. Gaylord of Las Vegas and Lyndell McKenzie and Sarah Ohlson, both of Reno; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Elsa Gimino

Elsa Gimino, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Henderson. She was born June 17, 1928, in the Philippines. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Maria A. LaCorte of Reno and Mila Gimeno of the Philippines; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Herman Glenn

George Herman Glenn, 87, of Iowa, died Sunday in an Iowa hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Abilene, Texas. A former Las Vegas resident, he worked as a plant superintendent for Lockheed Aircraft during World War II, was a union meat cutter, an owner-operator of a California grocery store, an employee of the Safeway Corp., managed a California apartment complex along with his wife for 20 years and was a member and past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; two sons, Larry Glenn of Bellingham, Wash., and Jim Glenn of Anaheim, Calif.; two daughters, Debbie Davis of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Sandra Fisher of Lancaster, Calif.; one stepson, Terry Oye of Knoxville, Iowa; one sister, Alam Sludge of Bakersfield, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service in Las Vegas is pending. Bybee and Davis Funeral Home, Knoxville, is handling arrangements.

James T. Hearn

James T. Hearn, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 14, 1933, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired insulator in the construction industry, a Korean War Army veteran, a member of Local 4 in Buffalo and Local 135 in Las Vegas of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Union.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; two daughters, Tammy Kirby and Debbie Amigone, and two sons, Thomas Amigone and Ken Kirby, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Charles Hearn of Florida; and one grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is arranging private services.

Elsie Kerekes, 98, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care facility. She was born March 19, 1903, in East Chicago, Ind. A resident for 47 years, she was a homemaker and the former owner-operator of the Little Giant Market.

She is survived by two sons, Michael R. Kerekes and Joseph Kerekes, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, E. Joy Zweig of Hammond Ind.; two sisters, Jennie Walborn and Elizabeth Kader, both of East Chicago; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Carol E. Kilty, 60, of Las Vegas died June 16 in a local hospital. She was born June 24, 1940.

Kathryn "Kitty" King, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 3, 1935, in Elkins, W.Va. A resident for 45 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert E.; one daughter, Lesa King Whittemore of Bittinger, Md.; one son, Mark King of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Hal Larsen, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Seattle. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired police officer.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; two daughters, Rolinda Wisham and Joni Larsen, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 9 a.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.

Velma Kadish Lugo

Velma Kadish Lugo, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born July 7, 1922, in Las Cruces, N.M. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Joan M. Payne of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Alex Francis Moore

Alex Francis Moore, 12 1/2, died Saturday in Houston. He was born Oct. 9, 1988, in Ridgecrest, Calif. A resident for two years, he was a student, a member of the Boys and Girls Club, played the alto saxophone and was a big Oakland Raiders fan.

He is survived by his father, Earnest Moore, and his stepmother, Tezra Hudson, both of Las Vegas; seven brothers, Jeremy Moore, Isiah Moore, Earnest Moore Jr., and Joseph Moore,, all of Bakersfield, Calif., Jamaal Moore of Fresno, Calif., and D'Ron Pittman and Curtis Saxon, both of Ridgecrest; six sisters, Janaye Moore, Brittany Moore and Alexis Moore, all of Bakersfield and Zyera Hudson, Alptamise Hudson and Jakota Hudson, all of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Margaret Wade of Ridgecrest.

Kathleen Richey, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Lewisville, Ark. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired accountant in the medical industry.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Roscoe and Kathie Arnold, and one son, John Richey, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Leo McGoogan of Birmingham, Ala., and Leon McGoogan of Lewisville; mother, Mamie McGoogan of Lewisville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Vince Risafi III, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1945, in Iowa. A resident for 29 years, he was an executive at several local casinos and a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha; one son, Tony Risafi, and one daughter, Gigi Risafi-Woltz, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Cynthia Hughes of Pismo Beach, Calif., and Linda Rodriguez of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Katherine D. Spence, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born April 27, 1938, in Waterbury, Conn. A resident for 25 years, she was a hotel-casino executive housekeeper.

She is survived by four sons, Raymond V. Smith of Reno, Robert Spence and Bruce Spence, both of Kansas and William Spence of Laughlin; two daughters, Rose Klingonsmith of St. George, Utah, and Lori Forshee of Kansas; two brothers, Raymond Doucette and Jack Doucette, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was scheduled 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. services today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. Burial followed in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Josephine Elizabeth Stanfa-Ward, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 18, 1915, in Illinois. A longtime resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Henry B.

James Walter Schweppe, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 17, 1918, in Webster City, Iowa. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired carpenter, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the local Carpenters Union.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Merrill Schweppe and Elliott Schweppe, and one daughter, Rose Anna Cirac, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Thurman W. Tweedy, 87, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. He was born June 22, 1914, in Sallisaw, Okla. A resident for four years, he was a retired supervisor in the gaming industry.

He is survived by his wife, Verna; one daughter, Dorothy Tweedy of Las Vegas; one son, Stan Tweedy of Henderson; three brothers, Otis Tweedy, Cecil Tweedy and J.D. Tweedy, all of California; and two sisters, Leta Ballinger of California and Mildred Pearson of Arizona.

Elvin Dalton 'Rattie' Wesson Sr.

Elvin Dalton "Rattie" Wesson Sr., 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 4, 1920, in Hot Springs, Ark. A resident for two years, he was an Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Elvin Wesson Jr., and Gregory Wesson, both of Las Vegas; and three daughters, Dollean Harmon of Columbus, Ohio, and Anita Wesson-Clary and Phyllis Wesson, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd., North. Larry Workley

Larry Workley, 49, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. He was born July 15, 1952, in Wheeling, W.Va. A resident for 11 years, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Workley and Brian Workley, and his mother, Virginia Workley, all of Butler, Pa.; and one brother, Fred Workley of Indianapolis.
