The Henry Mancini Institute Summer Educational Program has awarded a local musician with a full fellowship for this summer's program.
Megan Sesma, 22, is a harpist and attended Las Vegas Academy High School before being accepted to the Eastman School of Music in New York. She is one of 84 musicians selected from a worldwide audition, that includes participants from 10 countries and 60 cities throughout the United States.
The program will be from July 21-Aug. 19 at the University of California, Los Angeles. Sesma will perform with guest artists in free concerts, attend classes and have private lessons during the program. The program provides mentors to musicians to help them in their professional advancement.
