CAMARILLO, Calif. -- Gasoline prices are a quarter a gallon less than they were at their peak earlier this year, a widely quoted survey says.
The average price of gasoline, including all grades and taxes, was $1.51 Friday -- down 12.8 cents since June 22, according to the Lundberg Survey of about 8,000 gas stations nationwide.
As a result, consumers are paying 16 cents a gallon less than a year ago and 25 cents less than the peak on May 18 of $1.76.
