Ray Beliveau

Ray Beliveau, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born July 27, 1931, in Minneapolis. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired warehouse manager in the gaming industry and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Murphy of Mountainview, Calif., and Lisa Bennett of Las Vegas; three sons, Michael Beliveau of Waterford, Conn., David Beliveau of Howie in the Hills, Fla., and Dale Beliveau of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two sisters, Anna Mae Dupaquier of Long Beach, Calif., and Betty Lou Fredeen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Raymond Black

Raymond Black, 68, of Las Vegas died July 9 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 10, 1932, in California. A resident for 45 years, he was a jazz musician and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; one son, Andrew Black of Texas; one daughter, Sara Black, and one sister, Sara Morgan, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Carmelo Facella

Carmelo Facella, 88, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 26, 1913, in Sicily. A resident for five years, he was a retired barber, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Erminia; one sister, Flavia Guida of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 6:30 p.m. until an 8 p.m. service Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, 913 Ogden Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89101.

Woodrow Gibbs

Woodrow Gibbs, 64, of Las Vegas died July 9 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 14, 1936, in Hendersonville, N.C. A resident for 31 years, he was a railroad construction worker for 20 years and a Korean War Army veteran.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in North Carolina. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Phyllis Chaplin Green

Phyllis Chaplin Green, 73, of Boulder City died Saturday in Boulder City. She was born March 14, 1928, in Huntington Beach, Calif. A resident for 47 years, she was a restaurateur, a member of American Peace Test International, American Civil Liberties Union and Las Vegas Jazz Society, creator of Two Gals from Cal, the Mustard Seed in Boulder City and the Cake Walk of Las Vegas.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Kessler, and one son, Robert Kessler, both of Boulder City; and three grandchildren.

A wake will be 6 p.m. Saturday at 504 Don Vicente Court, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Jazz Society of Las Vegas, P.O. Box 60396, Las Vegas, NV 89160 or the Lowell Observatory.

John H. 'Jack' Hughes

John H. "Jack" Hughes, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born April 26, 1925, in Wyoming, Pa. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired government engineer and World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, John E. Hughes of Mesquite and Donald C. Hughes of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is arranging private services.

Bohdan Kostiv

Bohdan Kostiv, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 1, 1920, in Rhode Island. A resident for 12 years, he was an accountant in the real estate industry and a member of the Ukrainian Club of Las Vegas.

He is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Johannessen of Las Vegas and Leona Waterbury of Long Island, N.Y.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. July 28 in St. Gabriel Byzantine Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

William M. Reed

William M. Reed, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 6, 1914, in Sedalia, Mo. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired maintenance foreman for Trans World Airlines and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Louise Dietz of Spanaway, Wash., and Susan Maffett of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling private arrangements.

James Scales

James Scales, 67, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1934, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for one year, he was a retired aerospace engineer and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Tony Scales of Henderson; two daughters, Lori Scales of Tucson, Ariz., and Deborah Scales of Henderson; and five grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Long Beach. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Patrick Sullivan

Patrick Sullivan, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 27, 1949, in Chicago. A resident for 22 years, he was a parts puller for an automobile dismantling company.

He is survived by his parents, Noreen and Clyde Sullivan of Indiana; one sister, Kathleen Caponi of Carson City; and two brothers, Clyde Sullivan of West Virginia and George Sullivan of Illinois.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Carson City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Edward J. Welsh

Edward J. Welsh, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Jackson Heights, N.Y. A resident for six years, he was a retired production supervisor in the entertainment industry, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche; four daughters, Jean Green of Las Vegas, Barbara Letson of Simsbury, Conn., Laura Cooper of Spokane, Wash., and Allison Blum of Park Ridge, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.

Christi Elayne Wilkendorf

Christi Elayne Wilkendorf, 40, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 28, 1961, in Tucson, Ariz. A resident for 22 years, she was a police officer with Metro for 16 years.

She is survived by her parents, Dixie Elaine and Robert Wilkendorf of Las Vegas; four sisters, Judy Johnston of Santa Maria, Calif., Cheryl Knight of Kent, Wash., Sandi Wogman of Sundance, Wyo., and Sheryl Adams of Wylie, Texas; and her grandmother, Lura Wilkendorf of Woodland, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
