Jakes Associates Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based transportation planner and technology consultant, has opened an office in Las Vegas.
Dean Hurst, who had been assigned to Jakes' San Jose office, will manage and be the sole employee of the Las Vegas office. Jakes has served as a consultant or has helped design many of the monorails and people movers that operate at Las Vegas' resorts.
The new office was opened to support Jakes' Las Vegas systems and for the development of a prototype transportation system for a new Las Vegas resort. Hurst would not disclose details of the new project.
