Donations at Smith's help UMC programs
Smith's Food and Drug customers in the Las Vegas area have contributed $16,936 to University Medical Center through "Smith's the Coin for Kids" program.
Customers may drop their extra change into locked boxes at each check-out stand. UMC uses the monthly donations to support the health needs of children.
Cities to recruit for new positions
The cities of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas are preparing a joint recruitment for the position of firefighter trainee.
A seminar will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive. Call 392-2774 for more information and updates.
