Gary B. Anson
Gary B. Anson, 55, of Lacey, Wash., died Monday in Lacey. He was born Dec. 25, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a sales associate for Home Depot. a retired Navy Reserves chief petty officer and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; three sons, Stephen Anson, Jonathan Anson and Kevin Anson, all of Lacey; two brothers, Stanley Anson of Las Vegas and Richard Anson of Tempe, Ariz.; and two sisters, Muriel Sibelrud and Ardith Kempf, both of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Woodlawn Funeral Home, Lacey, is handling arrangements.
Charles D. Arthur
Charles D. Arthur, 60, of Henderson died July 4 in Henderson. He was born July 1, 1941, in Ashland, Ky. A resident for 37 years, he was a maintenance worker at the Las Vegas Convention Center and a member of Teamsters Local 631.
He is survived by one daughter, Felicity of Las Vegas; his father, Charles S. Arthur of Kentucky; and one sister, Kim of Arizona.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
Helen Hess Balch
Helen Hess Balch, of Boulder City died Monday in Henderson. She was born in Freeport, Ill. A resident for 10 years, she was in the real estate business.
She is survived by her husband, Leon; one daughter, Cheryl McGuane of Washington state; two sons, Dennis Hess of Wisconsin and Alan Decker of Nevada; two stepdaughters, Jamie Grimaldi of Hawaii and Annette Ross of Nevada; two grandsons and four great-granddaughters.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Ossie B. Dupree
Ossie B. Dupree, 32, of Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. He was born May 11, 1969, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a laborer in the construction industry.
He is survived by his fiancee, Arlinda Wilson, one daughter, Arlaya M. Dupree, and one son, Diamante Wilson, all of North Las Vegas; his mother, Birdia Dupree, his father and stepmother, Ossie B. and Lennda Banks, two brothers, Jocky S. Dupree and Yamar Banks, and two sisters, Shonnacee Banks and Shannon Banks, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Ellie Dupree and Ossie and Ethel Banks, all of North Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Portals to Glory Church of God in Christ, 2301 Comstock Drive. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Louise 'K' Gilfillan
Louise "K" Gilfillan, 93, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 11, 1908, in Marshalltown, Iowa. A resident for 58 years, she was a retired surgical nurse at St. Rose De Lima and Sunrise hospitals and a World War II Army veteran.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Berenice Holguin
Berenice Holguin, 22, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A music store owner, she was born Jan. 13, 1979, in Mexico.
She is survived by her mother, Maria Mercedes Caraveo of Phoenix.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Avondale, Ariz.
Patrick H. Hurst
Patrick H. Hurst, 59, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Aug. 16, 1941, in New York City. A resident for six years, he was a retired real estate salesman, a Navy veteran, a member of Mensa, Southern California Blades and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Mari; five daughters, Lisa Losh of Newcastle, Calif., Jessica Banks of Auckland, New Zealand, Andrea Hamburg of Carmichael, Calif., Maureen Husen of Corona, Calif., and Kristen Hurst of Palo Verdes, Calif.; one son, Jason Hurst of Carmichael; one sister, Sue Schechner of Hesperia, Calif.; one brother, John Stacy of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Florence James
Florence James, 71, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Morgan County, Ill. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Bowle of Boulder City and Becky Lesniak of Dover, N.H.; one son, Duaine James of Hawaii; two sisters, Margaret James of Kanab, Utah, and Betty Reynolds of Las Vegas; five brothers, Tom Spradlin of Waverly, Ill., Bill Spradlin of Pena, Ill., Ken Spradlin of Vacaville, Calif., Greg Spradlin of Jacksonville, Ill., and Roy Spradlin of Springfield, Ill.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Irma G. Leier
Irma G. Leier, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 26, 1908, in New York City. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired secretary.
She is survived by one son, Ray Leier of Altadena, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Jean Ann Godsel of Vista, Calif., Patricia Holden of Riverside, Calif., and Laura Sverdlin of Burbank, Calif.; and one stepson, Carl Bellonzi of Park City, Utah.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter the Apostle Chapel, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Shirley Evelyn Ligmal
Shirley Evelyn Ligmal, 86, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born April 17, 1915, in Brockton, Mass. A resident for 11 years, she was a registered nurse in California for 20 years and a team nurse for the Los Angeles Rams from 1957 to 1970.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra J. Peters of Henderson; one son, Loring S. Hogan of Hyannis, Mass.; one sister, Carla Hopkins of Preston, Conn.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling private arrangements.
Richard Nelson
Richard Nelson, 41, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A salesman, he was born Jan. 8, 1960, in California.
He is survived by one brother, Robert Nelson of Wisconsin.

Phyllis Oehler
Phyllis Oehler, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 15, 1933, in Paducah, Ky. A resident for 38 years, she was a hotel food server.
She is survived by her husband, Edward P.; two sons, Ralph E. Oehler and Thomas Cole, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Vickie Cole of Las Vegas and Lessie Nina Oehler Jansen of California; and one sister, Doris Mathis of Paducah; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Stanley Joseph Osserman
Stanley Joseph Osserman, 76, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Pelham, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, an engineer for Boeing Aircraft and an occupational health inspector for the state of Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; one son, Lt. Col. Stanley J. Osserman Jr. of Kailua, Hawaii; one daughter, Ann L. Osserman of Mililani, Hawaii; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private.

Mary E. Pierson, 89, of Las Vegas died July 4 in Las Vegas. She was born March 23, 1912, in Princeton, Ky. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna DaLessio of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private.

Edna Ramsey, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born June 24, 1914.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Garcia of Las Vegas.

Kamongsinh Ratana
Kamongsinh Ratana, 33, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born June 7, 1968, in Savannakhet, Laos. A resident for 22 years, he was a coin room hard counter in the gaming industry.
He is survived by one daughter, Savanna Ratana, one son, Ty Ratana, his father, Somchay Ratana, and three brothers, Mongkhol Ratana, Kiangsak Ratana and Sourinhanh Ratana, all of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Soutsavath "Sue" Ratana of Las Vegas and Soumaly "Mary" Ratana of Grand Junction, Colo.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Lester Reimer
Lester Reimer, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born March 23, 1926, in Altoona, Pa. A resident for many years, he was a projectionist, a Korean War Air Force veteran and a member of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.
He is survived by one sister, Helen Bowers of Pennsylvania.
Visitation is private. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Edith Louise Richardson-Smith
Edith Louise Richardson-Smith, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Nyssa, Ore. A resident for 60 years, she owned a trailer park.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Berroyer and Rose Marie Richardson, and four sons, Richard "Ike" Richardson, David Guy Richardson, Gregory Smith and Delbert Lee Richardson, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Alene Hammerschmidt and Barbara Huffman, both of Oregon; two brothers, James Wilson of California and William W. Wilson of Oregon; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Katelynn Sibley, 2, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Mexicali, Mexico. She was born June 28, 1999, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her parents, Greg and Tammy Sibley of Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Chuck and Karen Walker of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Dottie.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
David B. Strother
David B. Strother, 73, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 17, 1928, in New Albany, Ind. A resident for nine years, he was a professor at Washington State University and the University of Washington.
He is survived by his significant other, Audrey Knight of Las Vegas; two daughters, Cheryl Strother of Seattle and Nell Baker of Concord, Calif.; two sons, Chuck Strother of Seattle and Boyd Strother of Bonsall, Calif.; two brothers, Jim Strother and Ed Strother, both of Indiana; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Loretta Wayne
Loretta Wayne, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Central Islip, N.Y. A resident for 6 1/2 years, she was a retired supervising social worker in the mental health industry, a member of the National Association of Social Workers, a former member of the Sun City Security Force, Italian Club and Irish Club and a former volunteer for shut-ins.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Martin Wayne; and one sister, Helen Ullman of Panama City, Fla.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
The family suggests donations to Greenpeace or Habitat for Humanity.
Connie Rosetta Williams
Connie Rosetta Williams, 75, of Las Vegas died July 3 in Cache, Okla. A former Las Vegas resident for 40 years, she was born July 4, 1925, in Cache.
She is survived by two nephews, Brandon Walker of Cache and James Seltenreich of Ojai, Calif.
Graveside services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
