Marjorie L. Chism
Marjorie L. Chism, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 26, 1921, in West Point, Ark. A resident for 38 years, she was a retired home builder
She is survived by one son, Don Chism, and one daughter, Sharon Milano, both of Las Vegas; one brother, James Crowder of Lafayette, Colo.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to the Family Home Hospice, P.O. Box 15645, Las Vegas, NV 89114-5645.
Joyce Ruth Mayo Cowan
Joyce Ruth Mayo Cowan, 73, of Boulder City died Wednesday in Boulder City. She was born Oct. 9, 1927, in Houlton, Maine. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired registered nurse and was instrumental in starting the Boulder City Welfare Food Pantry.
She is survived by her husband, Carl; two daughters, Margaret Crawford of Charlottesville, Va., and Catherine Camp of Boulder City; two sons, Mike Dow of Sacramento and George Cowan of Boulder City; one sister, Jean Allen of Henderson; one brother, James Mayo of Waterbury, Conn.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christian Center 4 Square Gospel Center. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Clay Davis
Clay Davis, 66, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 20, 1934, in Clinton, Okla. A resident for 38 years, he was an employee at Ceasars Palace, an Army veteran, and a member of the Elks.
He is survived by one son, Art Davis of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Dr. Ellen King of Reno and Kristina Campbell-Ebgington of Las Vegas; his mother, Erie May Davis of Sierra Vistas, Ariz.; three brothers, Charles Davis of Beatty and Dale Davis and Emmett Davis, both of Douglas, Ariz.; three sisters, Lena Wirt of Douglas, Cleta Boyles of Sierra Vista, and Neva Coil of Columbus, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Mary Harris
Mary Harris, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 6, 1919, in New York City. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Sgarlata, and one son, Robert Harris, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard Ventrano of Jamica, N.Y.; eight sisters, Rose Joy of West Islip, N.Y., Dorothy Linehan of Boston, Lilian O'Reilly of California, Theresa Linakis, Betty Jean Campbell and Ann Dolenski, all of Port Richie, Fla., and Janet Torres and Joann Garraino, both of Flushing, N.Y.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Tuesday and noon until 1 p.m. graveside services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
William Eugene Kent
William Eugene Kent, 65, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 31, 1935, in Olney, Ill. A resident for six years, he was a retired construction craftsman.
He is survived by one brother, Benjamin Angle of Las Vegas.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., handled arrangements.
Vivian Lindenberg
Vivian Lindenberg, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born July 15, 1928, in Butte, Mont. A resident for 60 years, she was a retired state government educator.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Walter; and one brother, Harold Robinson of Mexico.
Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, Eastern.
Gladys May McClanahan
Gladys May McClanahan, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in North Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 10, 1925, in Bellevile, Ill. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Carlton; two daughters, Phyllis Young of North Las Vegas and JoAnn McClanahan of Castle Rock, Colo; two sisters, Beulah Masters of Advance, Mo., and Vivian Lane of Tennessee; two brothers, Stanley Underwood of Illinois and Don Underwood of Indiana.
Service are private. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.
Albert 'Kayo' Newman
Albert "Kayo" Newman, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 31, 1930, in Denver. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired pipeline safety inspector.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three sons, Dell Newman of Sterling, Ill., and James Newman and Mike Wilkerson, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Lajuana Milan of Hugo, Okla.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Phyllis Oehler
Phyllis Oehler, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 15, 1933, in Paducah, Ky. A resident for 38 years, she was a food server.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; two sons, Ralph E. Oehler and Thomas Oehler, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Vickie Cole of Las Vegas and Lessie Nina Oehler Jansen of Kentucky; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. cryptside services Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
