51s record fifth straight victory

FRESNO, Calif. -- A turnaway crowd of 6,802 showed at Beiden Field on Wednesday night to celebrate the Fourth of July with baseball and fireworks.
However, it was the visiting Las Vegas 51s who provided most of the fireworks on this night.
The 51s (44-44) smashed four home runs and extended their win streak to five games with an easy 12-0 victory over the Grizzlies.
Starting pitcher Mark Kiefer (5-6) hit the first home run by a Las Vegas pitcher this season and center fielder Chris Prieto, third baseman Phil Hiatt and catcher Angel Pena also homered as the 51s hit the .500 mark for the first time since the second game of the year.
Hiatt's home run was his 22nd of the season, tops in the Pacific Coast League.
The 51s now lead the PCL's South Division by two games over the Grizzlies (40-44). The series continues tonight at 7:15 with lefty Eddie Priest (4-5, 4.09 ERA) coming off the disabled list to start against right-hander Kurt Ainsworth (5-7, 5.42).
