Educational programs planned by rangers
National Park Service rangers from the Lake Mead National Recreatin Area will host these educational programs:
A full-moon hike is scheduled 8 p.m. Thursday at Boulder Beach and at Overton Beach. As the evening temperature cools, desert creatures are more apt to venture from their homes. This hike offers participants the chance to observe and perhaps admire the plants and animals that come out on a full-moon night.
"Mysteries of the Deep," will begin 7 p.m. Friday at the Alan Bible Center. Join in to learn about the people and history of the Colorado River before it was Lake Mead.
The final program of the month will be 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Temple Bar Amphitheater in Arizona. The clear skies above Temple Bar reveal the wonder of galaxies, planets and the moon, using the 4.5 inch mirror-reflecting telescope or your binoculars. For more information, call 293-8990.
