Aristocrat Leisure Ltd., a Sydney, Australia-based slot machine manufacturer, announced Friday it has completed its acquisition of Casino Data Systems of Las Vegas.
Aristocrat paid $180.5 million, or $9.25 per share, for the casino software company. Nevada gaming regulators approved the deal in June; Aristocrat introduced its first slot product in Nevada casinos earlier this year.
"The merger between Aristocrat and CDS is a logical union between two industry leaders with complementary product lines, the result of which is an integrated company that leads the world in both video games and systems," said Des Randall, Aristocrat's chief executive officer.
Aristocrat also announced it has named Mark Newburg president of Aristocrat Technologies Inc., the company's American subsidiary. Newburg joined the company from NCR Corp., where he was vice president of NCR's financial services group for the Asia Pacific-Japan region. Newburg was also chairman of NCR Japan Ltd.
