Two women are in the Clark County jail this morning on murder charges, but Metro Police have not located a victim.
Police received a tip Jan. 19 that a man may have been killed and the slaying had not been reported. Detectives started following up on the information and were able to determine the possible victim was missing, Lt. Wayne Petersen of Metro's homicide unit said.
Police found the man's car in the possession of one of the two suspects.
"There was blood evidence in the trunk of the car," Petersen said.
Detectives determined an apartment of one of the suspects in the 700 block of Casino Center Boulevard was the probable site of the slaying.
Bridget Pascua, 22, and Kimberly Crawford, 33, both of Las Vegas, were booked into the jail Monday night on murder and robbery charges.
Police have identified the probable victim, but are not releasing his name. The motive for the slaying is believed to be an argument over money.
Finding the suspects in a slaying before finding the body is unusual for detectives.
"Typically someone finds a body or calls us because of an incident, and we go to the area and find a body," Petersen said. "Normally we have a body and work backwards to find the suspects."
Detectives also are looking for a potential witness identified as Alexander Vincent Sircello, 45. He was described as a homeless white man, 6-foot-1 and about 180 pounds, who is often in the downtown area.
